DAYCARE

Dogs are social creatures. Spending hours at home alone can lead to stress, behavioral problems, weight gain – even depression! Rather than leave your best fur-friend home alone during the day, bring him over to Peanut’s Place doggie daycare, where he can play with other animals – and humans – in a safe environment, staffed by people who are crazy about dogs.

You will have peace of mind knowing that when the day is over, your dog will go home tired, happy and ready to spend the evening with her family!

Daycare FAQs

Just a leash, please! We ask that you bring your dog in and out on a leash. Other than that, we recommend against bringing toys or rawhides with your dog as they may cause some possessiveness problems & because many toys will most likely not make it through the day. If your dog has special treats due to a medical reason, you may bring them.
Although we can feed your dog, doing so in this type of setting is not recommended because of possible aggression and health issues. In addition, dogs are generally not interested in eating as they are more interested in playing with all of their friends! However, in the case of very young puppies (under 5 months of age) and/or for medical reasons, we would be happy to feed your dog in a separate area as needed.
Typically, most dogs take breaks on their own, but there are no designated nap times. However, if you would like your dog to be separated for any part of the day, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
Peanut’s Place does not have a minimum requirement; however, we find dogs do best when they are here at least once a week. Attending daycare is a social skill the dogs need to practice. Dogs who attend only occasionally usually don’t enjoy daycare as much and may find it stressful.
Absolutely not! The dogs get excited when a new dog arrives and/or when visitors stop by. When new dogs arrive at Peanut’s Place, we often take them outside at first to settle down before putting them in a play area with the other dogs; this gives all the dogs a chance to calm down before greeting the new dog. It doesn’t take long for the dogs to settle down and everything is back to normal.
If you schedule a day and don’t show up you will be charged for the same.
We try to stay on top of any possible illness and take necessary precautions. However, just like with kids at school or daycare, viruses may be passed between dogs. If your dog comes down with anything contagious, he/she must stay home until your vet says it’s okay to return.
The safety of the dogs is always our first priority. In our initial interview, we make every attempt to weed out aggressive behavior. We closely monitor dogs and make sure the play stays fun and friendly, and intervene immediately if it become too wild or confrontational. However, dogs use their mouths & paws to play; therefore, little scratches & nicks are not uncommon. If anything serious should happen, we will transport the dog to a nearby veterinarian if needed and notify you immediately.
Full day packages may only be used toward weekday or weekend full day daycare. They may not be used for half days or boarding. However, if you do purchase a package and you board with us we will extend the expiration date of your package.
